CEFA was founded in 1946 by Eduardo Blanchard Castillo, beginning with the manufacture of cellulose capsules for bottle caps, as well as other chemical and pharmaceutical products such as gelatines, saccharins and soaps. Thermoplastic injection moulding began in 1952.
